THE COURT IMPACT SCALE
The Court Impact Scale is a 23-item measure that assesses the experience of survivors of intimate partner violence who have pursued a protection order against a current or former partner. The measure includes the following five subscales: Negative Impact (negative aspects of the court experience), Positive Impact (positive aspects of the court experience), Fear (ways the court experience heightened or triggered fear, or the emotional sequelae of trauma), Validation (ways in which the experience in court felt validating to the victim), and Network Impact (the extent to which the court experience caused problems in the victim’s home and work life).

SYSTEMS AND INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR POVERTY (SIRP) SCALE
The SIRP is a 17-item measure that assesses attitudes about poverty. It has two subscales. The Individual Responsibility Subscale measures the degree to which people attribute poverty to individual-level causes (e.g. lack of motivation, drug use), and the Systems Responsibility Subscale assesses the degree to which people attribute poverty to systems (i.e. institutions, policies).

MEASURE OF VICTIM EMPOWERMENT RELATED TO SAFETY (MOVERS)
MOVERS is a 13-item scale that measures survivor empowerment within the domain of safety. It is available in English and Spanish and demonstrates a strong factor structure and high reliability and validity in IPV survivors seeking services.
MOVERS is composed of three subscales that assess distinct domains of safety related empowerment: Internal Tools assesses the extent to which a survivor has developed a set of safety-related goals and a belief in her ability to accomplish them; Expectation of Support assesses the degree to which a survivor perceives that she has the support she needs to move towards safety; and Trade-offs assesses the extent to which the survivor feels that her efforts to achieve safety will trigger new problems. Participants respond to each item using a five-point Likert scale (from “never true” to “always true”). Scores on each subscale are summed and averaged to produce subscale scores.

SURVIVOR-DEFINED PRACTICE SCALE (SDPS)
The Survivor-Defined Practice Scale (SDPS) is a nine-item measure that assesses intimate partner violence survivors’ perception of the degree to which their advocates help them achieve goals they set for themselves, facilitate a spirit of partnership, and show sensitivity to their individual needs and styles. The SDPS offers DV programs a mechanism for process evaluation that is rigorous and rooted in the feminist empowerment philosophy that so many programs espouse.
